The UNCDF logo is the combination, in one fixed-size relationship, of the United Nations emblem and the letters ‘UNCDF’. The UNCDF logo is the keystone element of the organization’s identity and should be used to represent the entire organization.
The UNCDF logo echoes the ‘building- blocks’ of UNDP’s own logo, and gives UNCDF a strong identity of our own by adopting a ‘step blocks shape’. The logo is designed for easy application to the variety of print and online materials that represent UNCDF around the world.
The building blocks form an upward progression of steps comprising UNCDF initials. Together with the well-known UN emblem these blocks convey how UNCDF’s capacity helps to ‘build up nations’ by giving them the basic steps through inclusive nance and local development finance.
The logo is blue, with the UN emblem and the UNCDF letters in white. See colour specifications. An outlined version is provided for use when a lighter, more delicate version is appropriate, and when the logo is placed on a dark background.
Whatever the application of the logo, the UNCDF logo should always be reproduced from official artwork and should always incorporate the approved tagline — Impact Capital for Development. Use of any stylized, animated, hand-drawn or other versions of an unof cial logo is not permitted. This undermines the logo system and brand consistency. Any request for clari cations should be made directly to the UNCDF Partnerships, Policy and Communications Unit, New York, at uncdf.ppc@uncdf.org.
The UNCDF corporate tagline is Impact Capital for Development.
The tagline is part of our effort to strengthen the positioning of UNCDF and better explain to external audiences our drive for transformational change, aimed at helping to build better lives for those we serve.
The tagline is an explanation of our value proposition and says two things:
The tagline should always be placed underneath the logo on business cards, E-signatures, website, Intranet, corporate folder, etc.
‘Boilerplate text” is a standardized text that can be used in many different contexts.
The UNCDF boilerplate text succinctly describes what UNCDF stands for and what UNCDF does. It is intended for use in all UNCDF printed materials.
By consistently using the same boilerplate text in all UNCDF publications and printed documents, we convey a unified vision of what UNCDF stands for and what we do. This, in turn, helps form a consistent understanding of UNCDF among our stakeholders and the broader public.
The UNCDF boilerplate is designed to complement any and all UNCDF printed communication materials to describe what UNCDF stands for and what we do. It should be an easy-to-find reference point in any UNCDF publication. Usually, the boilerplate will fit better in the early part of your documents.
The boilerplate is a standardized text and is meant to be “stand alone”. For specific documents, you may need to add additional text before or afterwards, re ecting the audience and the issues being discussed (i.e. descriptions of what UNCDF speci cally does in your country, which projects we have, which development partners we work with, etc.).
Use of additional text around the boilerplate must get prior approval of the Partnerships, Policy and Communications Unit. However, you should not alter the boilerplate text.
